In 2022, Cambodia has the honor to assume the prominent role as the ASEAN Chair for the third time under the theme “ASEAN A.C.T.: Addressing Challenges Together”.
The Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, as the national representative for ASEAN Economic Community Council, willbe hosting the 54th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ (AEM)Meeting and Related Meetings; which will be held from 11-18 September 2022 at Sokha Siem Reap Resort & Convention Center, Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The 54th AEM Meeting will take place on 14-15 September 2022, during which highly respected Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will be cordially presiding over the opening ceremony of the 54th AEM Meeting on 14 September 2022.
The CLMV Economic Ministers’ Meeting, and other Consultations between AEM-ASEAN Dialogue Partners;including AEM-India, AEM-Russia, AEM-Canada, AEM-Closer Economic Relations (CER), AEM-Republic of Korea, AEM-MOFCOM, East Asia Summit Economic Ministers’ Meeting (EAS EMM) , AEM-Plus Three, AEM-Hong Kong, China,AEM-METI, AEM-UK, AEM- US Trade Representative, AEM-EU, and RCEP Ministers’ Meeting; will be held on 16-18 September 2022.
The 54th AEM Meeting and Related Meetings will discuss the progress of ASEAN Economic Community integration,including but not limited to, the status of Cambodia’s Priority Economic Deliverables, Post-Covid19 Economic Recovery, ASEAN External Economic Relations, Timor-Leste’s Application for ASEAN Membership and other multilateral and regional Matters
Under the theme “ASEAN A.C.T.: Addressing Challenges Together”, Cambodia stands ready to work closely with all the ASEAN Member States, External Partners and ASEAN Secretariat to double down the efforts to build ASEAN Economic Community and accelerate the economic recovery,overcoming the challenges ASEAN is facing and forging ahead with strength, solidarity and friendship in line with the core spirit of ASEAN: “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”.
